TUW-72DE is a substitute for 3M™ Novec™ 72DE Electronic Fluorinated Liquid. 3M cleaning agent TUW-72DE is composed of TUW-7200, TUW-7100, and trans-dichloroethylene. In the mixed solvent, trans-dichloroethylene forms azeotropes with the two fluoroether compounds, TUW-7100 and TUW-7200, respectively. The TUW-72DE mixture is used for vapor degreasing, and analysis shows that its components change very little. It is also very safe and effective for medium to heavy-duty cleaning.

TUW-72DE is widely used in various cleaning applications and can serve as a replacement for ozone-depleting substances, oxidizing solvents, and other cleaning agents that are harmful to the environment or human health. TUW-72DE does not deplete the ozone layer and is environmentally friendly. It has low surface tension, is non-flammable, and highly stable, making it suitable for immersion cleaning or vapor phase cleaning to remove flux residues and degrease. It can also be used as a solvent and dispersant for coatings.
