TUW-7200 Electronic Fluorinated Fluid: Precision Cleaning, Hermeticity Leak Testing, Thermostatic Bath — One Fluid for Three Uses, NO PFAS Domestic Alternative
2026-10-16
A piece of equipment, a circuit board, or a test system often requires more than one kind of liquid: cleaning needs a cleaner, leak testing needs a test fluid, and temperature control needs a thermostatic fluid. If a single medium can cover all these needs, procurement, inventory, and management costs can all be significantly reduced. TUW-7200 is precisely such a "one-fluid, multi-use" electronic fluorinated fluid.
1. What Is TUW-7200?
TUW-7200 is a thermally stable perfluorinated liquid benchmarked against 3M Novec 7200. It is designed primarily for precision cleaning and test medium applications, and is a NO PFAS (no per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) alternative solution. It features excellent chemical inertness, is non-toxic and odorless, non-flammable, has no flash point, low surface tension, excellent thermal conductivity, and is VOC-free.
2. Use 1: Precision Cleaning
As an electronic cleaning agent and precision cleaner, TUW-7200 removes grease, flux residue, and ionic contaminants from precision components. As a grease cleaner, it handles oil and grime in equipment maintenance. Its low surface tension ensures penetrative cleaning of fine structures, and its residue-free evaporation guarantees post-cleaning cleanliness.
3. Use 2: Hermeticity Test Fluid
Hermeticity (leak) testing requires a non-volatile, chemically stable medium that does not affect the part under test. TUW-7200's low volatility, chemical inertness, and high density make it an ideal hermeticity test fluid: the medium is not consumed during testing, does not react with seals, and delivers stable, reliable, and repeatable results.
4. Use 3: Thermostatic Fluid and Cooling Medium
TUW-7200 can be used as a thermostatic fluid and cooling medium: it maintains precise temperatures in constant-temperature baths and carries away heat in cooling loops. Its small viscosity change at low temperatures and excellent thermal conductivity ensure stable response and efficient heat exchange in temperature-control loops.

5. Use 4: Extraction Solvent and Other Applications
TUW-7200 can also serve as an extraction solvent for separating target components from mixtures. Its high insulating properties also support its use as a test medium in voltage testing and similar scenarios. One fluid for multiple uses significantly reduces chemical procurement and inventory management costs.
6. Environmental and Safety Profile
TUW-7200 follows the NO PFAS route: its ODP is zero, so it does not deplete the ozone layer; its GWP is low, greatly reducing greenhouse contribution compared with traditional PFCs; it has no flash point and is non-flammable, making it safe to use. The product meets RoHS and other environmental requirements, supporting compliance in export markets such as Europe where PFAS regulation is tightening.
7. Product Features
The properties of TUW-7200 underpin its stable performance in precision cleaning, hermeticity testing, and temperature-control scenarios:
- Excellent material compatibility, moderate solubility
- Excellent electrical insulation performance (dielectric constant 7.3 @ 1 kHz, dielectric strength 40 kV)
- Excellent thermal conductivity, thermal stability, and chemical stability
- Small viscosity change at low temperatures; pour point as low as −138 °C
- Dries without water marks
- The liquid can be regenerated by distillation and reused
- Low environmental burden: colorless, odorless, non-toxic, ODP = 0, low GWP
- No flash point, non-flammable, safe to use

9. How to Choose Between TUW-7200 and TUW-7300
TUW-7200 and TUW-7300 both belong to the HFE system, but their application focus differs. TUW-7200 is more focused on cleaning, hermeticity testing, temperature control, and other test and cleaning scenarios; TUW-7300 is more balanced between semiconductor equipment temperature control and cleaning. For test equipment and laboratory scenarios, TUW-7200 is preferred; for equipment temperature control with cleaning on the side, choose TUW-7300.
